Members of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities community have taken the pledge to stand against sexual assault in support of the “It’s On Us” campaign, a project aimed at raising awareness and educating others about the responsibilities we have in stopping sexual assault. 2017 Economic Conference & Networking Breakfast

The Tunxis Community College Foundation’s annual Economic Conference & Networking Breakfast was held at the Farmington Marriott on November 17th, 2017. Vanessa Williams, CEO of Leading Edge Consulting, LLC, a global executive coaching firm with offices in CT and FL, was this year’s Keynote Speaker. Other speakers were Sal Vitrano, Alice Pritchard, Josh Miller, Dhrumil Shah and President James Lombella.

‘Civility In Politics’ with Professor Fulco

Trinity College Professor Adrienne “Renny” Fulco spoke to a crowd of students, faculty, and staff on December 4th in room 201 about the importance of civility in politics. She examined the root causes of the breakdown of civil discourse in our country and also discussed the contributions that students can make to improve our politics. Professor Fulco also encouraged students to become civically active and used the example of Trinity College History Professor Jack Chatfield, who passed away in 2014, as a lesson in civic engagement and civility. Poverty In Our Local Communities – A Panel Discussion

The Civic Engagement Institute sponsored a panel discussion on “Poverty in Our Local Communities” October 25, 2017. The panel consisted of three faculty members, Marie Clucas, Richard Edwards and Rafaele Fierro, who analyzed the issue of poverty. Also serving on the panel were Tunxis students Jon Girard and Daniel Singleton, who shared their personal stories and observations on poverty in their communities.
