The U.S. Constitution and the Legalization of Marijuana

On Monday, September 29th, 2014 four panelists spoke about an aspect of the debate on the legalization of marijuana and the U.S. Constitution. The panelists were Professor of History Robert Brown, Professor of History Fran Coan, Professor of Criminal Justice Ren Marchand, and Professor of History Rafaele Fierro. The topics covered an aspect of the topic including the historical perspective centered on the 18th Amendment, the issue of federalism, and law enforcement. International Day of Peace September 22, 2014

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world in late September. The United Nations General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. Tunxis celebrated the event with tolling bells, children making “joyful noises” speakers and a campus-wide collaborative art project.
