Personalizing a portfolio is a good way to make it stand out. You can do this by adjusting colors, images, and other features. To make these adjustments navigate to Portfolio Tools → “Settings”
You can customize certain parts of your portfolio. You can replace the portfolio icon and banner, change background color/image, and change the CSS (Advanced Users). To reach it use the “Customize” button under the “Choose A Theme” section. You may need to scroll down to view the new drop-down area.
The portfolio icon is the small thumbnail shown in the e-Portfolio directory.
The icon image will always be 100×100 pixels. If you upload a larger image it will automatically be resized. You can upload the new image using Browse. Locate the file on your computer and allow it to upload before clicking “Insert”.
Note: It will not appear until you save.
The portfolio banner is the large image across the top of your portfolio pages.
The header image must be 779 pixels wide or smaller. The automatic resizing for header images may cut out important parts of an image. To avoid this crop with an image editor like Microsoft Paint, Photoshop, GIMP, etc.
You can upload the new image using “Browse”. Locate the file on your computer and allow it to read upload complete before clicking “Insert”.
Some new options have been made available in recent Digication updates.
- Page Background – You can adjust the page background color or add an image for a portfolio background.
- Background Image Repeat – Only applies to selected portfolio background. This setting will repeat the background in the selected directions.
- Background Image Position – Only applies to selected portfolio background. This setting determines where your background image begins on the page.
Scroll to the very bottom and click “Save” to lock in your new banner and icon along with any design changes.
The final section is for changing the CSS of your portfolio. CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets, changes the properties of web content. It’s basically a list of instructions for how to display your portfolio. It can be used to add borders, change colors, and much, much more.
