Tom Cameron

Tom Cameron headshot

For almost 10 years, Tom’s photography has been almost entirely outdoors, much of via kayak and canoe.  Reflections, symmetries, unique lighting, frozen motion, deep serenity and bold compositions highlight these images obtained from early spring through deep winter.  The images range from B&W and conventional color to macro images and high dynamic range presentation.         All images are professionally printed by the artist.

His work has been displayed in solo exhibitions at the Farmington and Canton libraries, the gallery in Matthew’s Restaurant in Unionville, the Spear Gallery at the Stanley-Whitman Museum in Farmington and other smaller art venues throughout the area. He is a member of the Canton Artist Guild and displays his work regularly at the Gallery on the Green in Canton and the Autumn Light Gallery in Avon.  He has won awards in competitions including the 2010 Granby Land Trust juried show and the 2011Gallery on the Green Open Juried Exhibition. Numerous images from the Farmington River Collection are also included in the recently released “Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook Wild & Scenic Management Plan1”.  The Hartford Courant featured an image from the collection on the cover of the I-Towns section.  One of Tom’s longer term goals is to publish the best images from the collection in a suitable permanent format.

Tom Cameron is general manager at Ultimate NiTi Technologies in Bristol. His education includes mechanical engineering (BSME – U of Illinois) and materials science (MS & PhD. – U of Connecticut).
