I discovered photography while living among the Inupiat of Northern Alaska in the mid 1980s. Upon returning to my native Texas, I continued my personal work in photography while managing the day to day operations of a major Black & White photo lab in Dallas. Since relocating to New England in 1998, I further enriched my love of the art by teaching photography and darkroom skills at community colleges, art centers, and a college of art in Connecticut, and have exhibited in museums and galleries in Texas, Connecticut and New York. I see my decision to offer photography workshops, as a natural extension of my work as an instructor in the photographic arts, taking those of like passion to locations where, together, expressive images can be made in a stimulating and supportive environment. “I’m not sure what gives me more satisfaction, making my own photographs, or helping others express their vision!
