Transfer Pathways

Upon completing an associate’s degree from Tunxis, students are prepared to transfer into a four-year college/university program leading to a bachelor’s degree.

Several schools offer guaranteed admissions to their bachelor’s degree programs to graduating Tunxis students (a minimum GPA may be required).

St. Joseph’s College GAP Program – Apply at any time in your Connecticut community college career for Guaranteed Admission into the Saint Joseph College Program for Adult Learners. BA programs include Accounting and Management.

UConn Transfer Pathway – If you are earning the associate  degree in business at Tunxis,  you may be eligible to enter the School of Business to pursue a Bachelor of  Science degree in Business and Technology,  available  at University of Connecticut campuses in  Stamford, Greater Hartford, Waterbury, and Torrington.  To qualify for admission to the Business and  Technology program as part of the Transfer Pathway.

Connecticut State University Dual Admissions – The Connecticut State University System (CSUS) and the Connecticut Community College System have developed a Transfer Compact which offers Dual Admission to students who are planning to enroll at a CSUS university after completing an associate’s degree.

The Community Colleges of Connecticut and the Connecticut State University System have established a transfer agreement in order to facilitate successful transfer between the two systems.  Tunxis graduates who complete an Associates degree with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher are guaranteed admission to the university of their choice in the CSU system (Central, Eastern, Western, or Southern).  Students who plan to transfer should consult a counselor or academic advisor early in their academic career to make the best possible transition to the Connecticut State University System.

Tunxis’ BA Program has articulation agreements with many private colleges in Connecticut, including Post University, University of St. Joseph, Goodwin College, University of Hartford, and more! See your adviser for more specific information!
