The e-Commerce certificate offers a unique and valuable combination of a business and marketing education, allowing students to learn the tools necessary to compete in a global marketplace. Both traditional and online merchandisers are seeking employees with an understanding of technology and electronic retailing and the skills to use these tools in innovative ways to reach customers. The research and consulting firm IDC estimates that one million new technology-related jobs will be created over the next five years — an increase of about 10 percent.
